Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM 2013)

 Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2013 will be held on 10 February, 2013 (Sunday) for admission to M.Sc. (twoyear), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual degree and other post-bachelor’s degree programmes at the IITs Bombay (IITB), Delhi (IITD), Guwahati (IITG), Hyderabad (IITH), Kanpur (IITK), Kharagpur (IITKgp), Madras (IITM) and Roorkee (IITR)] for the academic session 2013-15.

JAM 2013 is open to all nationals. However, foreign nationals will be required
to satisfy the rules and regulations of the admitting Institute(s) pertaining to foreign students for admission.

Management Entrance Exams


Common Admission Test (CAT) is an entrance exam for admission to post graduate management courses in all the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and various other management institutes.

Availability of forms for CAT 2013-2014:  CAT vouchers will be available through Axis bank branches and their associated outlats during the period August 2012 to September 2012. After buying the voucher candidates will be supposed to apply online.

Eligibility criteria:
For general candidates: A candidate should have got atleast 50% or equivalent CGPA in Graduation.
For SC/ST candidates: A candidate should have got atleast 45% or equivalent CGPA in Graduation.
Final year candidates who will complete their gradudation in 2013 can also apply.


Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is an entrance exam conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission to the post graduate management courses throughout various management institutes in the country.

Eligibility criteria:
Eligibility criteria for appearing in MAT requires a candidate to be a graduate. The candidates who are in their final year of graduation can also apply for MAT for provisional admission subjected to the completion of their graduation.


Graduate Management Admission Test(GMAT) is a worldwide entrance test conducted for admission in Post Graduation Management courses in a number of foreign universities and institutes.

Registration for GMAT:  Candidates can register for GMAT online, by phone, by fax or by email. To register online follow the given link: Apply Online. Canditates can also register for GMAT by calling at 0120-4324628 for India. Candidates can also register by filling a form and sending it by fax or mail. There is no fixed date when GMAT exam can be taken. It can be taken any time of the year with prior appointment. GMAT score is valid in over 1900 institutes around the world. Score obtained in GMAT is one of the selection criterias for shortlisting/selecting candidates for selection procedures by business schools. The fees for taking GMAT is $250. GMAT scores are valid for a period of 5 years.

Eligibility criteria:
EAnyone can take GMAT as there is no minimum age requirement or educational qualifications needed to take GMAT. However candidates need to note that GMAT in itself an eligibility criteria for admission in various B-Schools and there will be other eligibility criterias as well for different B-Schools.

Engineering Entrance Exams

 All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examinations (AIEEE): 2013

All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examinations (AIEEE) is amongst the famous exams for admission in engineering/architecture bachelor courses throughout most of the leading engineering/architecture institutes across the country.

Eligibility criteria:
For admission through AIEEE a candidate needs to pass in Class 12th. A candidate can only appear for AIEEE 2013 if he/she has passed/appearing class 12th.Those who want to appear for BE/BTech entrance should compulsory have Physics and Mathematics in class 12th and at least one of the subjects among Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Biology. Those appearing for architecture courses should have Mathematics in class 12th with at least 50% marks aggregate.

 Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE): 2013

Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE) is organized and conducted by Indian Institute of Technology. IITJEE is the exam conducted for the students who aspire to take admission in Engineering and Technology courses under the top technical institutes of India.

Availability of forms:  The applicants have to collect application form from the various centers recognized in various cities across the country. The form will be available from the month of November, 2012. The IIT JEE candidates have to submit the dully filled forms within the mid of December 2012.

Eligibility criteria:
The candidate must have passed their 10+2 examinations from a recognized board. The candidate can appear in the Joint Entrance Exam two times only, that also should be in consecutive years. The candidate must be physically fit for the course for which they have applied. The candidates who will be giving their final examinations of 10+2 in 2013 are also eligible to apply.

Medical Entrance Exams
 All India Institute of Medical Sceinces(AIIMS): 2013

All India Institute of Medical Sceinces(AIIMS) is quite simply the best medical institute in India. AIIMS was established by an act of parliament in 1956 and therefore is an institution of national importance.

Availability of forms:  Application forms for AIIMS are available in Mid-January from the designated State Bank of India branches across the country. The form can also be obtained by post by sending a request for form along with a Demand Draft to AIIMS. The candidates have to fill the form and send it along with required documents to AIIMS.

Eligibility criteria:
To get admission in MBBS course in AIIMS a candidate has to pass class 12th with atleast 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. For SC/ST candidates the minimum aggregate required is 50%. Also a candidate should have attained the age of atleast 17 years by 31st December, 2011.

MCA Entrance Exams
 NIMCET: 2013

NIMCET is an entrance examination conducted by National Institute of Technology’s for admission to the 1st year of their MCA courses.

Availability of forms:  Candidates are required to fill an online form. After filling the form they have to take a print out and send it along with the photocopies of the specified documents and a demand draft. The URL where the candidate can apply for the examination will be available after the release of the notofication.

Eligibility criteria:
Candidate must have minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5/10 CGPA in 12th as well as Graduation. For SC/ST candidates they should have got atleast 55% aggregate of 6/10 CGPA. Candidates should also have studied Maths/Statistics/Business Maths in Graduation as well as 12th.

Common Entrance Examinations
 DCE CEE: 2013

DCE CEE is an entrance examination for admission to bachelor engineering courses in Delhi College of engineering and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology.

Availability of forms:  Application forms for CEE are available in March to April. The forms can be obtained either from DCE or NSIT. The form can also be obtained by sending a request for the form to DCE. The application form is only for appearing in CEE. After the results are declared candidates are required to apply separately for admission.

Eligibility criteria:
A candidate should have passed class 12th with atleast 60% aggregate in PCM. There is relaxation of 10% for SC/ST candidates in % aggregate. Additionally a candidate should be minimum 17 years of age and not more than 25 years of age on 1st October, 2011.

Law Entrance Exams
 Common Law Admission Test-UG (CLAT-UG): 2012

Common Law Admission Test-UG (CLAT-UG) is an All India level admission test for admission to BA LLB programs of national law universities throughout the country.

Availability of forms:  Candidates can get the form of CLAT through designated branches of Indian Bank, State bank of India and 11 participating National Law Schools. Candidates can also download the form through the website www.clat.ac.in. One can also get the forms of CLAT through the CLAT office by post by sending a demand draft along with the request for form.

A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with atleast 50% aggregate marks(45% for reserved categories). Appearing students for class 12th exams can also apply.

Results for JNU entrance examination - Viva-Voce - 2011-12
Every year, lakhs of students take the JNU Entrance Exam in various nooks and corners of the country and seeks to become a part of the JNU community. The JNU Entrance exam is also unique in the sense that apart from providing reservation to the backward sections of the society, it allots deprivation points to the girl candidates and to candidates coming from the least developed states.

CAT Preparations
Common Admission Test (CAT) is an entrance exam for admission to post graduate management courses in all the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and various other management institutes. IIMs are undoubtedly the best management institutes in the country with a world wide reputation.

Until last year CAT was a paper based test but from last time CAT has become a Computer based test that means a candidate will read questions and choose correct answers on a computer in the designated test centre. Also instead of a single day CAT will be conducted through a ten day window for different students where they will have different set of questions of similar difficulty level. Other than these there will be no change in the format of CAT.

Eligibility criteria:
For general candidates: A candidate should have got atleast 50% or equivalent CGPA in Graduation.
For SC/ST candidates: A candidate should have got atleast 45% or equivalent CGPA in Graduation.
Final year candidates who will complete their gradudation can also apply.

Pattern of Examination:
CAT is of two and a half hours duration having multiple choice questions from the followng sections:
Data Interpretation and logical Reasoning
Quantitative Ability
Verbal Ability and Comprehension

Candidates are expected to perform well in all the three sections as there are separate cut-offs for individual sections as well. Each question has 5 options. A candidate gets 4 marks for a right answer and 1 mark is deducted for an incorrect answer.
